"When a life outdoors amid the rich heritage of the west became a siren call too loud to ignore, husband and wife began their search for a place to call home, far from the big cities." |

A Boyhood Dream Comes True By Christy Heitger-Ewing "The cabin’s floors, ceilings and the top bit of the chimney breast are made up of reclaimed barn wood. The bottom portion of the chimney is made from local stone. 'These buildings all have a heritage, and we wanted to preserve, honor and maintain that heritage,' says Ted." |

Great Place
"We really enjoyed our stay at The Old Wagon Wheel. The hosts were fabulous and the room was amazing. The location is great, a short drive to downtown Whitefish, but far enough out for privacy."- Sept. 2015

"My husband and I recently stayed 3 nights at this cabin and it was a dream. The cabin is beautifully decorated and we appreciated every little detail. We were able to cook all our own meals in the full kitchen and enjoy our morning coffee out on the porch that looks out into the forest. The cabin has A/C so even though it was very hot during our stay we were cool and comfortable the entire time. We spent most of our time enjoying Murray like which is just a short 10 minute drive from the cabin and was very relaxing. The cabin is located just a short drive into downtown Whitefish however you really do feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. Linda and Ted were amazing hosts and we will most certainly return for another visit. If you are looking for a romantic weekend away look no further, your dream cabin is here! The photos really don't do this place justice, it's even more breathtaking in person."

"We spent two amazing days at this lovely and one of a kind retreat. The Old Wagon Wheel was absolutely fantastic - every detail was beyond perfect. The best part was the company of our two lovely hosts that we now consider friends. This retreat was relaxing, casual, yet the epitomy of perfection and decadence. We came back from our trip as two relaxed people that had a new perspective on life - as we are two 60 hour a week professionals that came to Whitefish, MT completely exhausted and in need of a break. Never in our wildest dreams did we expect to come back so revived and rejuvenated. Fresh coffee and the most amazing little treats....ahhhh, it's time to go back and see our dear hosts that made us feel like family. Don't miss this comfortable, clean, gorgeous and relaxing slice of heaven. You need to do this for yourself!!" July 2015

Great Place
"This is truly a great place to spend a few nights - we wish we would have had more time! It would be very hard to find more gracious hosts than Linda and Ted and they go out of their way to make sure your experience is a memorable one.
The "cabin" is a great space with lots of room, a full kitchen, a very comfy bed and air conditioning - that was certainly appreciated as we were there the hottest 2 days of the year!
When we arrived the fridge was already stocked with milk, water, eggs, jam, diet Coke, iced tea and a bottle of wine - certainly not what we expect at a rental unit.
There was some fresh fruit, sourdough bread, snacks - really well thought out extras that make your stay that much nicer.
The linens and the bathroom amenities are all first rate luxury products and a part of what makes this a luxury rental. And that's not even mentioning the wonderful chocolates on your pillow at the end of the day!
It is close to Whitefish and Kalispell and not far from Columbia Falls or Bigfork - lots to do in the area but we'd be just as content to sit on the porch and read and relax.
We look forward to going back in winter and just reading. relaxing and getting away from it all." July, 2016

A Very Happy Birthday
The Old Wagon Wheel was pure perfection. From the start of the day you wake up to a gorgeous woodsy view from a cozy bed. We stayed in the beginning of November so the leaves on the trees had turned and the vibe was fall. The outside deck is perfect for sipping some coffee and taking in the enchanting forest on all sides. We needed a break from the fast paced life of LA and this was the perfect place to unwind. Linda's amazing design talent is perfect for setting the scene and the daily treats were a perfect ending to the days spent exploring. The personalized chalkboard welcome makes you feel right at home. Coming home to a slice of Birthday cake was a sweet notion that made our heart's warm and fuzzy. Best vacation. Most inviting hosts and when we left we felt like were leaving behind new friends in Whitefish. Thank you Linda and Ted for creating such a delicious slice of heaven.

The Perfect Honeymoon Getaway
My husband and I recently stayed at The Old Wagon Wheel for our wedding/honeymoon. And we can not say enough good things about our stay! Not only is the location beautiful, but the accommodations were spectacular! Linda and Ted were such gracious hosts as well. When we arrived, the room was set up so beautifully, right down to the Mr. & Mrs. dishtowels! We arrived to fresh fruit, freshly baked treats, along with a bottle of wine, a stocked fridge, and every night there was a treat on our pillows :-) . It's definitely a luxury rental that will leave you feeling pampered. Sitting on the deck watching the horses was so relaxing...in the morning with coffee, or in the evening with a glass of wine. Whitefish is a beautiful town with friendly people, and lots of little shops and restaurants. It's also not far from Glacier National Park, which was just gorgeous! We already miss our new friends Linda and Ted, but we will definitely be back for a visit. We just want to say thank you to you both for a perfect wedding/honeymoon vacation!
